Haohan Chromatography (Shandong) Applied Technology Development Co., Ltd. has established an analytical method for the determination of volatile halogenated hydrocarbons in water by blow-out capture/gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, and compared it with headspace gas chromatography (GB/T17130-1997). The results show that the blow-out trap/gas chromatography/mass spectrometry method is obviously superior to the headspace gas chromatography method. The method can also be used for the determination of six other volatile halogenated hydrocarbons in water with satisfactory results.
